Bra Less: A Way of Life
To be completely honest, I hate bras, they are uncomfortable and if wasn’t frown upon by society, I’d never wear one. In recent news it was said that bras are not only a pain in the ass but they can attribute to the development of breast cancer.

In the book “Dressed to Kill: The Link between Breast Cancer and Bras” by Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer it is argued that tight-fitting bras could restrict a woman’s lymphatic system from naturally secreting carcinogenic toxins found in the body. Eventually this leads up to buildup of these agents in the breast.
There is no direct correlation between bras and breast cancer but according to a Harvard study it has been stated that bras do alter the anatomy of the breast. If you go bras less you are 60% less likely to develop breast cancer yet the debate continues.
As for me, well I say to hell with bras. Breast cancer is the number one cancer affecting women today and bras suck any way. If not wearing a bra will help protect from this horrible disease, well ladies burn your bras. They are just not worth it. If you feel uncomfortable without a bra there are some alternatives. Calvin Klein has the Retro bra for $24 and Maidenform has the Bralette for $14. Both of these are under wire free, padding free and supposedly much more comfortable and liberating. They differ from the standard bra by eliminating rigid pinching claps and skin digging underwires which hinder lymphatic circulation. So take care of your self and your breast get rid of the bra or update to a more comfortable one.
