Breaking Dawn

Vampires…what is it that’s so sexy about vampires? Apparently I’m not the only one who fantasized about Dracula in high school. It was because they required us to read it in sophomore year of high school. Really read it too, we had to read it out loud in class every class. I guess this teacher caught on to the fact that we didn’t read we just used cliff notes to do the reports. I was included in this group. I’m not one to really read. I’ve read few books in my life cover to cover. My problem is a have a short attention span and it’s like these writers want to be so damn descriptive. But I read Dracula, The Valley of the Dolls and this one book you might have heard of, Twilight. It took me about a week to read it but that is because I’d only read a little bit at a time. The book held my attention though, because I wanted to find out what happens. This book is like my fantasy come true. It’s about a girl, Bella, who moves away from her mom in from sunny Phoenix, AZ to go live in Forks, WA with her dad; the rainiest place is the country. At first it seems like a big mistake but then she meets Edward, a vampire. The entire book I just want him to bite her and turn her but it ends with them at prom and the last scene he kisses her neck, a very frustrating ending for me. Since then two more books have come out, New Moon and Eclipse. My sister, who still kept reading the books, informs me that in these two books there are some vampire battles. Edward leaves Bella for dead. She falls for a werewolf, Jacob, who saves her. She saves Edward from the Vulturi and the last book ended with Bella and Edward engaged.

The last of the Twilight four book series comes out this August 2nd so finally we will find out if he turns her. But apparently there is a big debate amongst the readers on the web about who Bella should in up with. To them I say silence idiots, what is there to debate. Bella should end up with Edward. The only reason I even wasted my time reading this book is because it’s about a love affair with a vampire. That’s sexy, that’s hot. Vampires creep up on you, suck your neck and always in the most sensual of ways. I’m not sure how many dreams I had a about Dracula taking me in every sense of the word. But really Brad Pitt from Interview with the Vampire is who I pictured as Dracula. I’m happy that I didn’t spend my time reading the other books and now I think I’ll let my sister read the last one for me too. I was planning to read it but nothing will piss me off more if this girl ends up with the werewolf. That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Just kill the story why don’t we. I ended up reading it and honestly it wasn’t too bad. Bella has Edwards son and end up with him. Thanks Stephanie!

They are making a movie out of the first book Twilight which is coming out November 21, 2008. It’s another thing that might ruin the book. Out of the entire collection Twilight was the best. One thing I do know is I’ll be watching it the day it comes out! Check out the trailer and also a chance to win an autographed copy of Twilight here: Twilight

This book literally sucks. do you (stephenie meyer) have any IDEA how excited we were for the release of this book??!!! we stayed up all night to read it. and are thoroughly dissapointed. i cant believe you could do this. its despicable. why did you have to do this to bella and why is edward…so…so… not edward. the book seems sterile. i mean it has a semi good plot. but they never tell anyones emotions, just lay out the facts. its sad. i do however like the jacob point of view since i’m a die hard jacob lover. so i had no problem with edward becoming a total idiot. and planting his mutant child into innocent and ignorant, and seductive bella. but she had it coming sooner or later. i dont understand how she could do this to the twilighters. i mean “the ending that was meant to be”? WHAT???!!!!

    sorry but….no.

So I ended up reading Breaking Dawn after all, I see a lot of you guys were displeased and honestly it’s not her best work but at least in the end Bella and Edward end up together…so my hopes were not crushed :)

I am soo pissed with Stephenie Meyer. You guys are right: how could SHE do this to her fans? I have been very loyal to the series and to the characters in particular; I waited in line like everyone else, eager to see how the story would end. I can’t believe that she would mutate Bella like that, beyond recognition! She wasn’t Bella anymore, she was someone else entirely. I guess, more than anything, I am upset by the utter lack of thought Stephenie gave to her adoring fans, myself included. I’m glad to know that I’m not THE ONLY ONE who feels this way.

breaking dawn left me in tears. i didn’t even know what to say. i cant even wrap my mind around it enough to decide if i loved or hated it. i dont think there is a in between here. when i saw the last page -the, the end- i just burst out in tears. all i could think about was edward and bella at a lunch table together in forks high school. it was just…just so strange. the books twist was just one i had never considered. and then, reading it, i just couldn’t find a trace of the old bella we loved. the edward we had all fallen in love WITH. but even so, even with it being so very different, this is what we wanted all along. team edward HAD INDEED WANTED THIS. people hate this book, and people love this book, but what we all should be in agreement over is that we pushed the book this way the whole time. this was the intended ending. it was what it was truly in the end supposed to be. i just cant believe its over. i cant believe that there is nothing else to tell about this vampire named edward who ruined relationships for us for 5 years. they will be together forever. and thats what we all knew was going to happen. but its still so hard, reading this book, even though i had wanted this all along. they’re story is finished and im just not ready for it to be.

I love the Breaking Dawn, so many twists and turns and unexpected, come on only a great writer can come up with such an awesome book, I hate the babies name and I hate that she interrupted the middle with Jacob’s POW but all the pieces fell into place and now we know that Bella can defend herself and they are truly a family, Edward & Bella and Jacob and Nessie-love it!

  9. alquan Says:

I had no problem with them having a baby I really liked it and could even deal with her name but when I found out jacob imprinted on bella’s baby it went to far for me and i got pissed

  10. Alex Says:

Somehow, Breaking Dawn felt slightly foreign to me. I won’t go as far to say that I hated it, but I’ve been a loyal fan since the beginning of the series and feel like the book was a bit out of place amongst the others. I will say that I was thoroughly surprised with events such as Jacob imprinting on Renesmee and Alice and Jasper’s sudden leave, but am I the only one who felt slightly sick with Bella’s pregnancy? I couldnt bring myself to believe that she could still love what I believed to be a little monster at the time that was destroying her from the inside out. Most of Jacob’s story left me feeling disgusted because of the pregnancy, but I’m glad views were switched for that time. Also, I don’t think Edward was made into a “fool” in the book. I just think that everything happening to the people he loved was a little too much for him to handle at times, and showed a rather human side of him. All in all, the outcome could have been faaaaaar worse =]

  11. Kari Says:

I loved it! You guys are just being babies. It was different from the other books because their relationship was different. It was more mature which made it more believable. And she was able to have a baby and a family and fit in more than she ever had anywhere. she didn’t have to give up anything like she was afraid of. And Edward can’t be the same with her after she changed because he doesn’t have to be, he can finally be himself and not so overprotective. I thought it was awesome.

  12. Amber Says:

I kind of agree with a lot of the comments on this website. I’m not going to go to the extreme for blaming the author. Most of us couldn’t even come up with something as creative as the twilight series. This book did seem foreign to me from the other books. I felt it lacked a lot of those “oh my goodness what’s going to happen next” moments like all of the other books had. For me the story line was lacking and very predictable. It didn’t have the great climax I was expecting with the Volturi, but that’s okay. Kudos to Stephenie Meyer for writing the books. I’m sorry she is getting so many rotten reviews from her readers.

  13. Dragger Says:

mature. Most of Jacob’s section sounded like a bad sci-fi novel, and the end was highly anti-climactic. It was such a great book, though, that I couldn’t disagree MORE with anyone who believes it was terrible and wants to bash Stephenie Meyer for it.

  14. Kayleen Says:

I have to say I was really happy with it…

People keep complaining how Bella isnt the same Bella,

Well duh, shes a vampire which as youve heard over and over and over again changes you, duh. She only has some strong memories of her past life…and got lucky that she stayed alittle like herself unlike most newborns…

and how is Edward a fool?

and I love Nessie’s name bad…i love it, it has meaning…

yeah breaking dawn wasnt the same as the last 3, but alot of shit changed…and I was happy that Jacob imprinted oh her baby…im happy it isnt a fight between them anymore and they can all be happy go lucky…

and she gets to have the sexy vamp in the end…

i haven’t read breaking dawn yet, but it honestly sounds so ridiculous! there comes a point when writing fantasy that you can become far-fetched and it does sound like Meyer has changed her fantasy style (extremely ideal reality with some magic in between) to the style of compete absurdity. i won’t be reading breaking dawn with much haste, nevertheless i will still give it a try.

  16. Ali Says:

Edward was so careless in the beginning. I mean the other three books he was so careful and protective! Before she was turned they had sex about 3 times, and(as my friend pointed out to me one day) he should have had condoms at least. I know it sounds stupid, but if Edward was truly himself he would have at least asked Bella about it and researched deeper on the subject about vampires and humans together.
Bella turned from a clutz to a total slut in this book. Every time Edward turned around she wanted sex, before and after she was turned. I’ve totally lost respect for Bella.
Then Edward asking Jacob to have sex with his wife!? WTF??!! It doesn’t matter if she was desperate to have his kid, Edward shouldn’t have even considered she’d want..pups.
The part that made me the angriest, though, was when the Volturi came and the Cullens & friends had a GREAT plan to finally take them out! But nooo, it has to end with Aro casting his vote to just take out the male vampire impregnating women..Suckish -_-
